Environmental blogger, Juozas ‘Jay’ Statnickas, spoke to Green.Org about the importance of taking responsibility for the future by educating ourselves about the changes we can make for the planet.

Hi Juozas, it’s great to meet you. Tell us a little bit about you and your background?

I started my environmentally conscious personal blog covering topics such as plant-based foods, renewable energy, ESG investing and more in 2020. I am currently in my fifth year at TechTarget, global leader in intent-data, marketing and sales services. I’m originally from Lithuania but have been living abroad for the past ten years, including countries like the USA, Denmark, Belgium and finally, the UK.

What is a fun fact about you?

I’m incredibly good at catching things! No butter fingers here!

Why do you think climate change and sustainability is such an important topic today?

The future of our generation and of those to come, depends on the actions we take today. I take personal responsibility in caring and researching the topics interesting first to myself but also important for the environment overall. Be it cleantech, plant-based diet or anything else!

What do you envision your industry looking like 10 years from now?

The industry is set to grow much larger. Looking at the transition to plant-based, cleantech and renewables, I’m very optimistic that we are in a good boat.

What can the average person do to make a difference?

There is a lot the average person can be doing- from personal sustainability, spreading awareness, to protest, petitions and much more.

Thanks so much for sitting down with Green.Org to talk about the importance of taking responsibility for our own future on our planet.
