Kamaljit Sood, founder and CEO of Sainc Biotech, and entrepreneur based out of London, shares how sustainable entrepreneurship will change the future.
Kamaljit, thank you for joining Green.Org. Tell us a little bit about you and your background:
I am a serial entrepreneur. I entered the field of energy generation in 2008 and soon metamorphosed to rejecting coal and fossil fuels as inputs for energy generation. I calculated that fossil fuels are used primarily because of profit motives. However, that will not sustain the planet. Renewable and circular feedstocks, albeit at higher prices, are necessary to sustain our planet and lives.
What is a fun fact about you?
Indulging in good foods and music to the dance tunes of Bhangra may be considered the fun side of me.
Why do you think climate change and sustainability is such an important topic today?
It is an important topic as it is is vital to the sustainability of humana nd biodiverse animal life and our planet.
What do you envision your industry looking like 10 years from now?
I expect the use of plentiful availability of hydrogen based fuels and waste biomass based biochemicals and food ingredients as an every part of life. Packaging materials will shift to renewable sources as will textiles and building materials. And further developments in fusion energy may materialise
What can the average person do to make a difference?
The average person can consciously purchase its everyday purchase of food and household groceries that are based on sustainable resources which exclude fossil fuel based end products.
Kamaljit, thank you for sharing your vision for sustainable entrepreneurship.
