Who is Ron Gonen?
Ron founded Closed Loop Partners which is a firm comprised of investors that are passionate about making a social impact. He has been recognized as an innovator in sustainable business practices. Gonen has received multiple awards including: ‘Champion of the Earth’ by the United Nations Environment Program, ‘Champion of the Earth’ by the United Nations Environment Program, Medal of Excellence from Columbia University, The Conference of Mayors – Public/Private Partnership of the Year, Technology Pioneer from the World Economic Forum and the Wall Street Journal’s #1 Venture Backed Cleantech Company Of The Year.
Ron, thank you for being here. Tell us a little bit about you and your background:
I grew up in Israel and Philadelphia. I have lived my adult life in NYC. I have always been passionate about social policy and the environment and feel blessed to be able turn that passion into a career.
What is a fun fact about you?
I grew playing playing Water Polo and played Water Polo in college.
Why do you think climate change and sustainability is such an important topic today?
It creates the transparency in our economy that consumers and taxpayers deserve.
What do you envision your industry looking like 10 years from now?
Sustainable business practices will be the key determinant of financial success. The average person can help make a difference by recycling.
