Meet Sebastian Gomez Puerto, founder of SunVessel – a company that offers individualized transportation solutions. Learn more about how SunVessel is changing the way we move!
Tell us a little bit about you, your background, and your current role:
I’m the founder of SunVessel – we build smart charging docks designed like furniture to seamlessly power and connect our compatible electric vehicles inside your home. On a personal note, I have called 7 different countries and 11 different cities home during the last 35 years. Curiously, the thing that all these places have in common is their insane traffic problems and their dependency on cars. Therefore, I’ve made it my mission in life to change the way we move.
What is a fun fact about you?
I got my bike stolen back in San Francisco, and it was in that moment that the idea of SunVessel started brewing.
Why do you think climate change and sustainability is such an important topic today?
I’m very concerned about the sustainability of the city were SunVessel is based, Miami. After all, Miami is ground zero for the effects of climate change and it is up to its residents to come up with creative solutions to minimize the impact. I wanted to do my part by motivating people to find alternative means of clean transportation for short trips. In doing so, I decided to form a team to build a beautiful and seamless mobility solution that everyone can enjoy from the comfort of their own home. We call it SunVessel.
What do you envision your industry looking like 10 years from now?
I see a future where SunVessel will be the premier in-home mobility provider for residential communities and other private spaces, changing the way you move by making personal mobility a part of every home.
What can the average person do to make a difference?
If we motivate others then network effects are possible. However, we need to act fast because time is ticking.
