Going Green had the opportunity to sit down with Clint Bertucci, founder of Travr.
Clint, tell us a little bit about you and your background:
Born Entrepreneur, was in the real estate market end event planning for much of my life then decided to go back to school and study abroad. Ended up moving to Italy, traveling then moving back to the US after falling in love with travel. Started a company providing incredible travel experiences to young adults.
What is a fun fact about you?
What was your motivation to get into this industry?
Truly fell in love with the world when least expected and it changed my life. Want to share that with others.
Why do you think climate change/sustainability is such an important topic today?
Hope this doesn’t sound nerdy but it’s true: Because if HUMANITY doesn’t come together in a big way, not us as individuals but us as in humanity will suffer the consequences. So many people try to dumb it down, for example I’ve seen so many people (on a cold day) say something ridiculous like “Oh, isn’t there supposed to be global warming…” And the scary thing is people actually convince themselves that a cold day means everything is ok… The only way we’re going to make a difference is with people like GG out there sharing facts, tips and suggestions about the real issues.
What do you envision your industry looking like 10 years from now?
AMAZING! Travel is a big thing right now and the more people travel the more they want to do it. The more you travel, the smaller the world gets and the more you realize how important travel is in life.
What can the average person do to make a difference?
Do just one thing minimum to make a difference and talk about the topic. You don’t have to change the world you just have to put in a little effort to start and improve from there.
What positive changes are you seeing?
I see people talking about it all the time, people sharing posts. Making it a cool thing. If it’s perceived as cool and good for the earth people will do it. Look at all the vegans.. It becomes a thing… I strut my Travr thermos like a champ.
Thank you Clint for this amazing information.
