Green Media News sat down with Alexander Woods, Founder of Vimala Earth, to chat about his journey in sustainability.
Tell us a little bit about your background.
I worked in Financial Services for most of my twenties, as a broker, consultant and recruiter. I always had an interest in helping the environment. I founded Vimala Earth to better understand litter patterns in London, we have grown a lot to help gather data on water and air pollution, and we are soon launching an e-commerce store for eco-friendly products. Not too mention we are developing some exciting technology, and we have only been operational for 6 months.
What would you do with $1 billion dollars?
Invest 60% of it in sustainable incomes for the long term, make sure all my friends and family are financially free, set up a global charity to help build infrastructure for indigenous and impoverished communities, and finally go on holiday.
Why do you think sustainability is such an important topic today?
Because we are seeing the harmful effects of climate change everywhere, humans are the kind of creatures that only when something affects them personally, do they act.
What do you envision your industry looking like in ten years?
Hopefully, we will have some serious innovative technology that will enable us to live more in harmony with the natural world and without harmful materials.
